Shirt Refashion

Inspired by My Mama Made It, who is always making cute new t-shirts, i decided to give it a try.  Since starting a new project is always funner than finishing all the ones on my sewing table, here is what turned out-

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

i bought two t-shirts is my fav purple at Target on the clearance rack for $3 each.  Using another shirt that i had as a guide i put elastic on the side seams of the shirt to create a gathered look and then cut the bottom of the extra shirt approx 1 in. off and gathered it.  Then pinned the ruffle around the next line and sewed. i didn’t have matching thread color, but i kinda like the black thread showing through.  New shirt for $6, plus lots of extra material left over to experiment with.
